Howden is tremendous, definitely can see why they wanted him so badly from Tampa.

Lundqvist is still quite capable of stealing games and the biggest foil of the tank.

McDavid and Draiasatl will probably get 100 points each this year but who cares if they always lose?

two guys combining for 21 million in cap space, the rest of that team is putrid

it's not the way to build a champion

i understand those that are embracing the tank, but I am sorry, I can't watch a game right now actively rooting for a loss or be upset when they win. Sorry, not in my DNA.

I agree. However, I’m one who wants to see them play hard, like last night, but I don’t mind seeing them lose a game even if they play hard. Last night, if it went the other way in the W/L columns, I’d be fine with that.
I just don’t want to see this team play over their heads and finish 10th or 11th in the conference.
Throughout the 80s, we had some good teams and some middle of the road teams. It hurts the “rebuild” when you’re consistently finishing in the middle of the pack. I think we have a good group of young hard working players (without the very good veteran types who push us to the playoffs like the Jagr Cally Dubi years). They’re finally in a spot to get a top 3 pick. It could change this organization for the next 10-15 years.
I’m willing to sacrifice this season for that. But like you, I don’t root for them to lose, I just don’t mind it like years past.

My TV remote is safe this season

And I love the fact that the coach started Howden in the OT. Trust the kids! The kid played his ass off again last night and the coach went with him.
I liked AV a lot and thought he was a helluva coach, but we all know if he was in that spot, he would no doubt go with his vets.

I am telling you, he is a bigger young Brad Richards. He will help bring a cup here.

It's a team that should have: Mcdavid, Draisaitl, Eberle, Barzal, Hall

Instead they have; Mcdavid, Draisaitl, Lucic, Strome and Larsson.

They had the pieces and gave then away for pennies on the dollar.

12.5 mil a year is too much for anyone

I hope we manage Jack Hughes contract much better

It's been 53 years since the Rangers drafted 1st overall. Just based on the odds it's bound to happen again some time.

I'll have a conversation with him about the whole thing if I see him at one of his brother's games.

I see people just freaking out about McDavid's goal last night, and it was awesome

but they lost 4-1

it reminds me of White Men Can't Jump

Yeah, no doubt.

I do agree with Tom on this one. They had many of the surrounding pieces that could have made that team a legit contender and just blew it. The management of that team has been flat-out managerial malpractice.

You know Staal can't sit. It has to be ADA at least and/or Claesson.

Edit: Maybe Skjei too but his OT tally might push that off a little. Maybe he goes hot hand and keeps the lineup intact?

The big difference between the two coaches is expectations. With Quinn, we're in a rebuild with low/no expectations. He can throw the kids out there whenever he wants because if they lose, oh well, it's a learning experience. With AV, we were expected to contend. He put the safe players out there because there was no margin for error.

Skjei led the team in minutes by far, I dont think there's a chance its ever going to be him

they are just going to ride him, especially against other teams top forwards and consequently, he will look bad at times

Vesey was (frank)ing invisible because I added him to my team
